Switzerland Innovation is proud to welcome its newest member company to PARK INNOVAARE: REMRETEch / www.remretech.com

We welcome REMRETEch into our ecoystem! REMRETEch is commercializing the proprietary rare earth (RE) metals recycling technology from e-wastes.  The project is a led by chemist Dr. Ajay Patil, a PSI Founder Fellow and current scientific collaborator at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne EPFL. The project won the Switzerland Innovation Tech4Impact Initiative. The founder Ajay Patil aims to develop a portable recycling unit for e-waste and resource management.

Dr. Alexander Schavkan, Business Development Manager at Park Innovaare, met Dr. Ajay Patil (CEO/Shareholder/Founder), Dr. Rudolf P.W.J. Struis (COO/Shareholder/Founder), Dr. Christian Ludwig (Shareholder/Founder), Mr. Anil Sethi (CLO /Shareholder/Founder) and Mr. Andreas Krebs (CMO/Shareholder/Founder) from REMRETEch to hang their logo plaque onto our deliveryLAB.

Ajay Patil is a researcher with great enthusiasm and curiosity for sustainability and resource management, circular economy and appropriate waste management. He is a professional with 12 years international research experience and demonstrated expertise in Analytical chemistry including spectroscopy and chromatography, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, radiochemistry, complexation and membranes. He is technology and market expert for rare metals.

Rudolf Struis received his M.Sc. degree in natural sciences (1st subject: Physical chemistry; 2nd subject: Experimental physics, 3rd subject: Informatics) from the University in Leiden in the Netherlands in 1980. From the same university he received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1988 based on his work in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance in electrolyte solutions. He is a Senior scientist Chemistry/Physics at PSI. Momentarily, he is project leader and labour coordinator at PSI for the REE-recycling project. The project is supported by the Swiss Federal Office of the Environment (FOEN).

Christian Ludwig is a researcher with expertise in the field of waste treatment; waste valorisation; waste management; geochemistry; thermochemistry; analytical chemistry; trace analysis; separation; hyphenated techniques; energy & fuels; engineering; materials science; metallurgy & metallurgical engineering; energy and environment. He is a professor at the EPFL and head of reasearch group at PSI.

Anil Sethi is a serial entrepreneur, author and teacher. He founded his first company Flisom in 2005, as a spinoff of the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. After raising over CHF 80 million, he exited successfully. He was honoured with the recognition of Associated Fellow by the United Nations for their initiative “The Defeat NCD Partnership". He authored the book “From Science to Startup: The Inside track of Technology Entrepreneurship".

Andreas Krebs is a specialist in the field of recycling equipment. He earlier lead the renowned recycling company BATREC AG. Afterwards, he founded Blubox over 20 years ago with the idea of developing an integrated recycling plant for lamps and flat panel displays. More than 20,000 hours of engineering and development were invested to bring a compact plant in a 40-foot container to the market.

We look forward to working with them on exciting projects in the future.  We wish them much continued success in the years to come.
