PSI large-scale research facilities

The PSI's facilities are unique in the world in their combination at one location, and some equipment is only available at PSI worldwide. These include X-ray free-electron laser SwissFEL, Synchrotron Light Source Switzerland SLS, neutron spallation source SINQ, muon source SμS, research infrastructure for particle physics CHRISP and the proton accelerator facility.

PSI cleanrooms

The PSI's PICO cleanroom at Park Innovaare comprises a 450m2 state-of-the-art ISO 4 and 5 area as well as 150m2 of space for companies to use themselves and with access to PSI equipment. The cleanroom is equipped for the following process steps:

Lithography
Developing and etching
Thin film coating
Sample inspection
